The 48th annual Delta Farm Forum will take place Feb. 29 in Delta Junction.

The forum features agricultural news, recommendations and research information, and it’s also a community event. The forum begins at 9 a.m. in the Delta High School small gym and will run until about 4:45 p.m.

Presentations will be given by researchers, producers, and representatives from businesses and agricultural agencies. Topics include reindeer husbandry, the status of Alaska Interior Meats, the Alaska Farmers Co-op's seed-cleaning service, grazing and soil health, and updates on an invasive plant program and AgrAbility. The AgrAbility program assists farmers, ranchers, fishers and other agricultural workers with disabilities.

A potluck lunch is scheduled at noon. The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, the Salcha-Delta Soil and Water Conservation District and the Partners for Progress in Delta Inc. co-sponsor the forum. For more information, contact Delta Extension at 907-895-4215 or pnkaspari@alaska.edu, or the conservation district at 907-895-6279.
