December museum programs explore symmetry

The University of Alaska Museum of the North will offer hands-on programs to explore symmetry during the month of December.

Early Explorers, for children 5 and younger, meets from 10 a.m. to noon each Friday. Junior Curators, for kids 6 and older, is offered from 2-4 p.m. Saturdays. The theme for Saturday, Dec. 5, is snowflakes. On Saturday, Dec. 19, visitors can learn about beading.

The museum also will offer open Creativity Lab activities for all ages during the first two weeks of winter break. The labs will be from 1–4 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, Dec. 21–22 and Dec. 28– 29. Supplies and inspiration are provided.
