The deadline to submit photos for the 2017 Peter MacKeith Memorial Photography Exhibition: Ascension has been extended to Friday, Feb. 3.

The theme is "adventure," which encompasses everything from landscapes to wildlife to sky-diving selfies.

This call for art is open to anyone in Nanook Nation who would like to share their passion for the outdoors and the wild adventures they discover within it. For more information or to submit your photos, please visit the website.

Frozen Lenses, the UAF student photography club, sponsors the exhibition.

MacKeith was a doctoral student at UAF in the Geophysics Department when he died in a climbing accident in the Alaska Range in 1980 at the age of 30. He was an avid photographer and documented many of his adventures. An endowment fund was created in his honor to support amateur photography.
