Dead Writers fundraiser to benefit visiting writers series

The University of Alaska Fairbanks English Department's annual Dead Writers Reading and Raffle will take place Saturday, Nov. 2, from 7-10 p.m. at the Blue Loon, located at 2999 Parks Highway.

The event invites participants to dress as their favorite dead writer and read that writer's work. Prizes are awarded for costumes and performances. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door; ticket holders are automatically entered into the raffle. Spectators are welcome.

All proceeds will benefit the Midnight Sun Visiting Writers Series. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Wood Center or by contacting Eric Parker at emparker2@alaska.edu.
