Dead Writers Reading Oct. 28

The Midnight Sun Visiting Writers Series of the UAF English Department is hosting
the 2011 Dead Writers Reading and Raffle. This event, now in its 21st year, is an
annual Halloween celebration that raises money to bring world-class writers to Fairbanks.
Every term, two to three writers come to UAF through this program, where they give
free readings and book signings for UAF students and the Fairbanks community.
This year’s Dead Writers will be held at the Blue Loon Friday, Oct. 28. The doors
will open at 6 p.m. and performances begin at 7 p.m. The reading features university
students, professors and community members performing, in costume, as their favorite
deceased writer. Dozens of local vendors have donated fabulous prizes that will be
given away in drawings between each reading.
