The next presentation in the Museum Discovery Series at the University of Alaska Museum of the North looks at the life cycle and migration habits of lampreys. Curator of Fishes Andres Lopez will outline research of this unique fish in a talk titled “Wonders of the Wandering Arctic Lamprey” on Thursday, April 21, at 6 p.m.

The Museum Discovery Series features a different curator each month unveiling new discoveries based on research in the museum’s collections. The presentations will be held in the museum's auditorium and are free and open to the public. This year’s series also includes a presentation by herbarium curator Steffi Ickert-Bond on Thursday, May 5, entitled “Plant Identification: An Essential Life Skill?”

This series is coordinated and sponsored by the University of Alaska Museum of the North. For more information, call 474-7505 or visit the museum’s website at www.uaf.edu/museum.
