The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service is looking for volunteers to serve on its state advisory council.

Members serve three-year terms. They advocate for Extension statewide and offer advice on program direction, priorities and stakeholder needs. Nominations are sought by June 30 for the council’s Interior, Southcentral and Southwest seats and an at-large seat. The council includes eight representatives from specific geographic regions, three-at large seats and two nonvoting Extension representatives.

An application and a position description may be downloaded from Extension’s home page at www.uaf.edu/ces. The application should include a resume, a one-page letter of intent and a short biography. All applications may be forwarded to the Extension director’s office at extension@uaf.edu, faxed to 907-474-6971 or mailed to Extension at P.O. Box 756180, Fairbanks, AK 99775-6180.

The Cooperative Extension Service is a nationwide educational network supported by a partnership between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and land-grant universities, such as UAF. Thirty-two agents based in nine Alaska communities connect individuals and their communities with practical, research-based information.
