Construction continues on campus

University Relations

Construction continues in several locations on the Fairbanks campus. Here are a few reminders:

  • Access improvements for people with disabilities and significant deferred maintenance, including a roof replacement, are being completed in and around the Gruening Building through August. The west Eielson parking lot is partially closed for project staging. Gold permit holders have been relocated to the south Bunnell parking lot for the summer, and spaces for people with disabilities will be relocated in the south Eielson lot.

  • More upgrades to the sewer system will take place on Yukon Drive and on North Chandalar Drive near the fire station and chancellor’s residence. Yukon Drive will be closed until approximately July 10. Motorists must take a detour on Tanana Drive and Kuskokwim Way. Visitors should follow detour signs and allow extra time to get to their destinations.

A construction parking map (PDF) is available to show recommended parking areas as well as construction locations on campus.

Please bear with us as we make these exciting changes to UAF. We are building a stronger university!
