Construction on the UAF campus is underway. Allow extra time to get to your destination, be aware of truck traffic and avoid walking through construction zones. If  traveling on the core area of the Fairbanks campus, be aware of the following projects:

  • Tanana Loop will be closed at S. Chandalar beginning Tuesday, May 28. At that time there will be no pedestrian access to the east. Detour signage will be posted, and an access road will open from S. Chandalar to the Bunnell South parking lot. The road will be closed through the duration of the engineering facility project.

  • The stairs from Alumni drive to Tanana Loop will also close Tuesday, May 28.  The stairs will reopen in mid-August, but there will be a detour from from the stairs near the top. Please use alternate routes.

  • Tanana Drive will be closed from the Fine Arts parking lot to the Duckering Building beginning Thursday, May 30. This will also close the one-way traffic down Taku Drive (no pedestrian access). Tanana Drive and Taku Drive will reopen after the sewer project is complete in mid-August.
