Each year Chartwells hosts an opportunity for the UAF community to contribute to those in need. This year, Chartwells made it easy for UAF students and employees to donate a whole, half or quarter turkey to the Fairbanks Community Food Bank for Thanksgiving. Thanks to everyone's generous support, 500 turkeys will be delivered to the food bank Wednesday, Nov. 15. The number of turkeys meets about half of the food bank's overall turkey needs for the Thanksgiving meals it provides.

Food Service of Alaska will provide transportation and delivery of the donations. Chartwells also recognizes cashiers Christine at Alaska Grill and Zane at Campus Cache for excellent promotion of the initiative. Together, they sold almost half the turkey donations, with Christine selling 150 and Zane selling 90. A rewarding experience and fundraiser, Chartwells is thankful to everyone who donated, and looks forward to find ways to give back to the Fairbanks community again next year.
