Sora Kim, of the University of California, Merced, will present "Tales from Their Teeth: Shark Teeth as Ecological and Environmental Recorders," at the College of Fisheries and Ocean Science weekly seminar Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. This is the final CFOS Seminar for the semester.

Teeth are one of the most defining characteristics of sharks, but what can they tell us about their ecological and environmental preferences? Modern shark teeth provide a time series of stable isotope data that can yield important clues to niche partitioning within and between individuals. In addition, fossil shark teeth indicate the ecological plasticity during past periods of climate change.
