Murdock Trust seeks proposals to commercialize a discovery

UAF is issuing a call for white papers containing proposals to submit to the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust's 2016 Commercialization Initiation Program. The trust will fund one proposal from UAF to help commercialize a discovery in the natural sciences, medicine or engineering.

The window for submitting proposals is April and May of this year. The deadline for proposal submission is June 1, and awards will be announced at the end of August.

The trust will provide matching funds up to $60,000. Since the trust asks UAF to endorse just one project, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research requires white papers be submitted for competitive internal review. Due to the ambiguity in this year's budget process, the availability of matching university funds is uncertain. If possible, proposals should identify alternative sources.

You can learn more about the program and download the appropriate forms and instructions for preparing and submitting the proposal from the trust’s website,
