Blue and Gold Gala to celebrate UAF, honor award winners

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will recognize distinguished faculty, alumni, friends and supporters at its Blue and Gold Gala, which will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Carlson Center.

The celebration features fine dining, live music by Young Fangs and a celebration of honorees.

Recipients of the Emil Usibelli Distinguished Teaching, Research and Service Awards, respectively, are Sarah Fowell, associate professor of geology and director of the GeoFORCE Alaska program; Eugenie Euskirchen, research associate professor of terrestrial ecology; and Erin Pettit, associate professor of geophysics. Letton Hall Group CEO Eric Toskey, a leading oil and gas expert, will receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award. Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue Lt. Paramedic Kurt Koudelka will receive the William R. Cashen Service Award.

Tickets for the gala are $125. Net proceeds will benefit UAF students through the Blue and Gold Scholarship Endowment.
