The Biomedical Learning and Student Training program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks wants undergraduate students interested in biomedicine, one health or subsistence health to apply for a $3,000 award. The application deadline is Nov. 16, 2015, at midnight.

The BLaST program improves undergraduate training and encourages students from diverse backgrounds, especially rural Alaska, to pursue biomedical research careers.   Students from UAF and UA Southeast campuses and Ilisagvik College are eligible to apply for the spring 2016 Undergraduate Research Experience award.

Details and application materials can be found on the BLaST website, http://www.alaska.edu/blast/blast-undergraduate-resea/.

Proposal-writing workshops to help undergraduates will be offered at the International Arctic Research Center on Oct. 29 in Room 401 and on Nov. 4 in Room 417. Contact Lori Gildehaus in advance at lagildehaus@alaska.edu for more information on audio or videoconferencing options.
