Biomedical program seeks scholarship applicants

The Biomedical Learning and Student Training program invites applications for BLaST scholarships. The BLaST scholarships cover UAF tuition/fees for fall and spring semesters (and summer session if the awardee choses to enroll in summer) and living expenses of approximately $15,700. Exact award amounts will vary.
The BLaST program is designed to enhance undergraduate training in biomedical research through increased diversity of students and increased integration of research and teaching.
Current and prospective UAF undergraduate students from anywhere in Alaska, from all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, are invited to apply. To be eligible for a BLaST Scholarship, students must:
• have an interest in biomedical or health research;
• be considering a career in healthcare, biomedicine, or research in life or social sciences;
• have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher;
• enroll for 12 or more credits in each semester of the 2015-2016 academic year
• be a US citizen or permanent resident.
