Arctic Council ministerial meeting to be webcast

The chairmanship of the Arctic Council will officially pass from Canada to the United States on Friday, April 24. The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host a live, big-screen webstream of the ceremony during an event beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Murie Building auditorium on the Fairbanks campus.

The free public event will start with a welcome and short film. The live stream of the 9th Ministerial Meeting of the Arctic Council in Iqaluit, Canada will run from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. KUAC will also broadcast the event live on UATV, KUAC-TV 9.4.

The Ministerial Meeting will bring together ministers of the Arctic states, including U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, as the chair of the council officially passes from Canada to the United States.
