The University of Alaska Foundation is accepting proposals for the 2016 Angus Gavin Memorial Bird Research Grant.

Scientists within the university system, including graduate students and faculty members, are eligible. The maximum grant is $15,000.

Grants support research on bird species found either permanently or seasonally in Alaska or its coastal waters. Research designed to help bird management will be given preference.

A team of qualified professionals will review the proposals and select the recipient.

The proposal deadline is Nov. 24, 2015, for the 2016 field season grant. The successful recipient will be notified of the review team's decision in mid-February 2016.
