Author Mary Albanese will present “Life Writing: Secrets of Crafting a Memoir, Biography, or Autobiography” Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. on Level Six of the Elmer E. Rasmuson Library at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Albanese will discuss the process of crafting a memoir, biography or autobiography and share her writing secrets.

“Alaskans have some of the world’s best stories to tell,” she said.

Albanese lives in England and is a film and TV scriptwriter, an artist and a songwriter. She is the author of "Midnight Sun, Arctic Moon: Mapping the Wild Heart of Alaska," an account of her life in Alaska from 1977 to 1987. She became a field geologist and spent her years in Alaska mapping for the U.S. Bureau of Mines and the Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys. The book was a finalist for the Readers’ Favorites competition.
