April is the Month of the Military Child, and the Alaska 4-H Program is asking Alaskans to “purple up” on April 15 to honor military youth.

pu logo(2) 4-H military liaison Candi Dierenfield said wearing purple during the fourth annual “Purple Up for Military Kids” event is a visible way to show support for military children. Purple symbolizes all branches of the military.

Military support activities are planned at several schools. For more information, contact Dierenfield at 907-474-1909 or cldierenfield@alaska.edu in Fairbanks or Colette Moring at 907-231-2322 or cmoring@afsc.com in Anchorage.

The 4-H program provides support and activities to military children, families and communities. Visit www.alaska4h.org for more information.
