University Relations

Undergraduates in STEM fields are invited to apply for research apprenticeship stipends through the Alaska Space Grant Program. The stipends are offered to undergraduate students in science, technology, engineering and math. Preference is given to projects directly related to NASA’s interests. Stipends available under this announcement are limited to students attending Alaska institutions of higher education.

Stipends are $6,000 for the 2021-2022 academic year. Applications are due June 15.

While all qualified students are encouraged to apply, women and individuals from underrepresented groups, specifically Alaska Natives, Native Americans, African Americans, Hispanics, Pacific Islanders and persons with disabilities, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Students are required to identify a faculty mentor with whom they intend to work, and who is available to write a letter of collaboration.

More information about award requirements, eligibility and the application process can be found here. For more information, email Kayde Kaiser at kekaiser@alaska.edu.

The Alaska Space Grant Program is a participant in the National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program.
