Alaska Solve Climate by 2030

The Alaska Global Dialog for Solve Climate by 2030 initiative, hosted by UAF's Institute of Arctic Biology, International Arctic Research Center and Honors College Climate Scholars Program, will take place online Wednesday, April 7, from 5-7 p.m.

This Alaska-focused webinar will bring together climate leaders from across the state to moderate a community discussion on solutions and inspiration as a part of a global initiative in all U.S. states and over 50 countries to make climate education part of the academic curriculum.
Keynote speakers will include:


  • Alex Hirsch, UAF Climate Scholars Program, who will focus on training Alaska's future climate leaders

  • Darcy Peter, Tanana Chiefs Conference Climate Change Advisory Committee and Woodwell Climate Research Center, who will focus on climate action across communities

  • Charley Basham, Fairbanks Climate Action Coalition Interfaith working group, who will focus on drawing on one's faith to motivate action

  • Kim McNett, from the Homer Drawdown Project, who will focus on collaboration to achieve a steady decline in greenhouse gas levels
