Ocean Acidification and Fisheries: Alaska's Challenge and Response is the topic of the latest Alaska Seas and Coasts publication from the Alaska Sea Grant Marine Advisory Program. Author Torie Baker, an Alaska Sea Grant Marine Advisory Program agent based in Cordova, explains ocean chemistry basics needed to understand the effects of increasing acidity in northern waters. This issue also highlights some of the current research under way aimed at better understanding likely impacts on increasing acidification on Alaska's marine ecosystems.

This special issue of Alaska Seas & Coasts was produced with funding assistance from the Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy at UAF.
