Alaska Public Media’s "Alaska News Nightly" and "The Alaska Economic Report" will return to KUAC FM.

Starting Monday, July 2, "Alaska News Nightly" will air weeknights at 6:30 p.m. and "The Alaska Economic Report," the five-minute economic newscast, will air weekdays at noon. The popular Alaska Public Radio Network programs were removed from the KUAC lineup in September 2017 due to reduced revenue, but KUAC and Alaska Public Media recently reached an agreement for the programming that has minimal impact on KUAC’s budget.

On Tuesdays, "Talk of Alaska" will return to the KUAC lineup on KUAC2 at 10 a.m. This statewide call-in forum is covered by hosts from the Alaska Public Media news team. Listeners can participate in this weekly program beginning Tuesday, July 3.

On Wednesdays at 10 a.m. beginning July 11, KUAC FM listeners can tune in to "Line One: Your Health Connection" and join co-hosts Dr. Thad Woodard and Prentiss Pemberton to discuss a variety of health-related topics.

July also brings news that Mike Flynn, host of "Folk Sampler" since the early 1980s, is retiring and "Folk Sampler" will no longer be produced for stations after the end of June. "TED Radio Hour" will be filling the Saturday noon spot.

On KUAC TV, the travel program "Globe Trekker" is ending production. A mix of new and encore programs will air in its place.
