KUAC’s Director of FM Programming & Production Jerry Evans coaches Rural Nutrition Services student Wanda David of Tetlin as she records her public service announcement (PSA) promoting beneficial traditional and garden foods.

The third year of KUAC’s collaboration with UAF’s RNS Program has resulted in ten new health promotion radio PSAs available to statewide radio stations and health advocates at the “AK – Health Promotion Materials Wikispace” maintained by the Eat Smart Alaska Committee. As part of the RNS Community Nutrition Interventions course, Alaska Native students developed culturally relevant PSAs encouraging healthy food choices, active lifestyle, and “little changes for big results.” PSAs are available at: http://ak-healthpromotionmaterials.wikispaces.com/.
