University Relations

Alaska NASA EPSCoR is now accepting proposals for research seed grants.

The grants provide early career faculty, or mid-career faculty seeking to realign their research focus, opportunities to develop collaboration with NASA centers. A research initiation grant is designed to give a PI initial funding for a research topic that is relevant to NASA and its strategic objectives. The goal is for the research to mature so the PI can submit a competitive proposal to one of NASA's regular grant programs. The funding amount is $20,000 total direct costs per award.

For more information on this opportunity and the solicitation packet, please see the Alaska NASA EPSCoR website

Note there will be two application periods for this solicitation. The July 1 deadline has a shorter period of performance than the January 1 deadline, so faculty should propose to the deadline that makes the most sense for their work. If they are able to do their project in a shorter time-frame, they are encouraged to apply to the July 1 deadline.

Applicants must be faculty members at an Alaska institution of higher education. For more information, email Kayde Kaiser at kekaiser@alaska.edu.
