Alaska NASA EPSCoR awarded two Research Infrastructure Development seed grants in August.

The overarching goals of this NASA EPSCoR RID program are to build Alaska’s research infrastructure and technology capabilities by providing seed funding and incentives that will lead toward long-term, self-sustaining, nationally competitive capabilities in support of NASA related research and technology priorities.

One grant went to UAF Research Professor Robert Herrick for his project, "Development and Initial Testing of a Venus-Analog Seismic Events Catalog."

The second grant went to Assistant Professor Shishay Kidanu for his project, "InSAR-based Mapping and Geophysical Investigation of Landslides along the Alaska Highway Corridor, Tetlin Junction to Northway Junction, Alaska."
