The Nanooks split on the road last week, falling 3-1 to in-state rival Alaska Anchorage on Tuesday, Sept. 11, before earning their first Great Northwest Athletic Conference victory in a 3-0 sweep over Montana State Billings on Saturday, Sept. 15. Alaska continues conference play on the road this week, traveling to Bellingham, Washington, to take on the Western Washington Vikings on Thursday, Sept. 20 (6 p.m. Alaska Daylight Time), before heading to Burnaby, British Columbia, to face the Simon Fraser Clan on Saturday, Sept. 22 (1 p.m. Alaska Daylight Time).

LAST WEEK: Idle | THIS WEEK: at Ken Garland Cross Country Classic (Sept. 22)
After participating in a competitive exhibition meet against Alaska Anchorage two weeks ago, the Alaska Nanooks men’s and women’s cross country teams hit the road this week to participate in the 2018 Ken Garland Cross Country Classic, hosted by fellow-GNAC member Saint Martin’s on Saturday, Sept. 22, in Lacey, Washington. The women’s 5km race will be at 8:30 a.m. Alaska Daylight Time, while the men’s 8km race is slated to start at 9:05 a.m.

LAST WEEK: Idle | THIS WEEK: Blue vs. Gold (Sept. 22)
The Alaska Nanooks hockey team will be hosting their annual Blue vs. Gold game this Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Patty Center ice arena at 7 p.m. The event is a fundraiser for the Face-Off Club and admission into the game is $5 for kids 12-and-under, $10 adults or $25 for a family. A beer garden will be set up at the west side of the arena, courtesy of the Oasis Bar and Lounge. Following the game, there will be a Skate with the Nanooks event and cookie social.

2018-19 Season Tickets on Sale
Season ticket packages for the upcoming Alaska Nanooks hockey, men’s basketball and women’s basketball games are now on sale at the Alaska Nanooks Ticketing Office located in the lobby of the Patty Center. Tickets on Sale for 2018 Nanooks Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
Tickets for the 2018 Nanooks Hall of Fame induction ceremony and brunch are now on sale through the link posted below. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Gold Room in the Westmark Hotel in Fairbanks. Doors will open at 10 a.m., and the ceremony will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Tickets are $35 per person. This year’s 2018 induction class includes Frederick Boyle, Steve Frank, Tyler Kornfield, Don Lucia and the 2002-03 Nanooks men’s basketball team.
