LAST WEEK: Idle | THIS WEEK: at UAA Invitational (Aug. 24-25)
The Alaska Nanooks volleyball team officially kicks-off the 2018 season this week, traveling to 365 miles south to Anchorage to compete in the University of Alaska Anchorage Invitational this Friday, Aug. 24, and Saturday, Aug. 25. The Nooks will face Michigan Tech University (9 a.m. Alaska time) on Friday before taking on Western New Mexico University (9 a.m.Alaska time) and Barton College (5 p.m. Alaska time) on Saturday. Each of Alaska’s three games in Anchorage will take place at the Alaska Airlines Center on the UAA campus.
@NanooksVB ranked seventh in GNAC preseason coaches poll
On Friday, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference released the volleyball preseason coaches poll which had the Nanooks finishing the 2018 regular season ranked seventh, three spots higher than the 2017 poll.
