Surviving the first few years as a faculty researcher or research administrator: Perspective from the director of the Office of Sponsored Programs and a new associate vice president for research. Webinar sponsored by the vice chancellor for research.

This webinar will look at career progressions for faculty research by focusing on three stages: nontenured, midlevel and senior faculty researchers. Successes, perils and pitfalls at each stage will be discussed. This webinar will also look at how the research administrator may or may not be of assistance during each phase.

Learning objectives:


  • Provide guidance to researchers on career progression in research at your university

  • Provide an understanding of and relief of pressures faced

  • Discuss common challenges faced

  • Explain how to work effectively and efficiently with your OSP


Presenters: Robert Lindquist, associate vice president of research, University of Alabama in Huntsville, and Gloria Greene, director of the Office of Sponsored Programs, University of Alabama in Huntsville. Attendees can receive continuing education credit and can request a certificate of completion.
