Teaching Tip: Create glossary to build mutual understanding

Creating or using a glossary as a class activity can ensure students and instructors have a shared understanding of how words or concepts are defined within the discipline. Having students create the glossary and provide definitions is an active learning approach that may increase an understanding of how to use terms correctly.
