2018 Pathfinder Award nominations open

Nominations for the 2018 Pathfinder Award are now being accepted. This annual award was established to recognize a superior staff member who contributes to the guidance and success of UAF's rural and Alaska Native students. Winners receive a $500 cash award.

Recipients are selected based on four criteria. The nominee:


  1. Serves as an advocate for Alaska Native and/or rural students

  2. Helps Alaska Native/rural students overcome personal and academic challenges

  3. Demonstrates a high level of commitment to the mission of Alaska Native/rural student success

  4. Engages effectively with leadership, students and/or regions to advance educational opportunities for Alaska Native/rural students.


The Pathfinder Award recipient will be announced at the 45th Annual Festival of Native Arts during the evening performances on Friday, March 2. (The festival will be March 1-3.)
