The 2018 Alaska International Piano-e-Competition will be held May 18-31 in the Davis Concert Hall on the Fairbanks campus. Twenty-one pianists from 11 countries will compete during a process of elimination over a 12-day span. The musicians are judged by a panel of jurors that includes Professor Eduard Zilberkant.

The symphony orchestra's Yamaha CFX Concert Grand Piano is the featured instrument during the competition, and is played by each contestant.  Because of its Disklavier capabilities, the competition will be live-streamed.

The final three artists will perform a concerto with the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra on May 30 at 7 p.m., and the gold medalist will give an encore performance May 31 at 7 p.m.
