2013 All-Sports Banquet to take place on May 3

The Alaska Nanooks Department of Athletics has announced it will hold its annual All-Sports Banquet Friday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m., at the Westmark Hotel in the Gold Room.

The banquet will be preceded by a 5:30 p.m. reception in the Rampart Room for sponsors, boosters, donors and volunteers.

This end-of-the-year event will reveal each team's Most Valuable Player and Dr. William Wood Scholar-Athlete. The Nanooks will also present their top awards, which is highlighted by the Intercollegiate Athletics Council Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year and the department's Most Outstanding Male and Female of the Year.

Other top honors include: the Bart LeBon Humanitarian of the Year, the Harris Shelton Spirit of Competition award, the Owen Tinker Fan of the Year and the department's Coach of the Year and Staff Member of the Year.

The public is invited to the join the student-athletes, coaches and staff in recognizing and highlighting the achievements of each of the department's 10 varsity sports over the past year.

The cost for the dinner event is $35. Advance purchase is required and no tickets will be sold at the door. All reservations must be made by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 29.
