UAF to host 2008 fall convocation

University of Alaska Fairbanks Chancellor Brian Rogers will address staff, faculty and students Tuesday, Sept. 16 at fall convocation. The presentation will take place at 1 p.m. in the Charles W. Davis Concert Hall on the UAF campus.

Rogers will speak about his plans to implement recommendations from his 15 transition teams. Plans for the coming year emphasize putting people first in UAF’s learning and work environment, seeking new ways for UAF to involve and serve the community, and encouraging students and faculty and staff members to find innovative ways to take action on campus needs. Rogers will also give an overview of next year’s budget priorities.

Students, staff, faculty, alumni and the public are invited to attend. Rural sites can participate via audioconference. The event will also be available via webcast at www.uaf.edu/news/webcasts. The link will also be available at the chancellor’s Web site at www.uaf.edu/chancellor. UAF Auxiliary and Business Services will host an ice cream social in the Great Hall immediately following the event. The chancellor’s office will host ice cream socials at rural campuses and centers.

Following convocation, the chancellor’s remarks will be available on the chancellor’s Web site at www.uaf.edu/chancellor.
