Chapman Chair lectures begin Sept. 10

The College of Natural Science and Mathematics will kick off its Chapman Chair Lecture Series Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 4 p.m. with "Paleoenvironments of the Late Quaternary Arctic Ocean," by Joern Thiede of the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, Germany. The lecture will be held in the Elvey Auditorium on the UAF campus and is free and open to the public.

Thiede will also give the second lecture in the series, "Transition from the Greenhouse to the Ice House Arctic Ocean" Sept. 12 at 3:30 p.m. in 201 Reichardt Building. The lecture is also part of CNSM’s Friday Seminar Series.
