ANCSA symposium extends registration, offers UA discount

A woman casts a vote in an election held by Doyon Ltd., the Interior Alaska regional corporation created under terms set by the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971. The deadline to register for a University of Alaska Fairbanks symposium on ANCSA has been extended to April 8, 2022.

The registration deadline for the upcoming symposium on the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act on April 12-13, 2022, has been extended. People are encouraged to register online until Friday, April 8, 2022.

All University of Alaska employees are now eligible for an early bird discount. In-person registration will be $150 for all UA employees who register before April 1, 2022. Employees must select the UA Early Bird option at checkout and enter their UA ID to receive the discount. Virtual registration for UA employees is free. In-person and virtual registration remains free for all UA students. 

The ANCSA symposium is co-hosted by the UA Fairbanks Department of Alaska Native Studies and Rural Development and Doyon Ltd. Attendees will participate in two days of programming featuring panels of experts, Q&A sessions, and discussion groups. Conversations will engage the panelists and audience in reflections on the history of ANCSA, what ANCSA means for Alaska Native communities today and what lies in the future for the next 50 years of ANCSA. All panels will be available for virtual and in-person attendance.
