On July 16, 2022, callers can dial 988 to connect to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s (the Lifeline) network of highly trained call center professionals. Those in Alaska who dial from a 907 area code will connect to Careline Alaska, where trained crisis counselors can provide confidential support 24 hours, 7 days a week. This service is for all ages, non-English speakers, and those who are deaf or hard of hearing. These trained counselors can respond to crises, provide emotional support and connect callers with local resources.
