The 2023 Innovator's Handbook from the Center for Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship (Center ICE) is a new guide to intellectual property and technology transfer for faculty, staff, and students at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the University of Alaska Southeast.

Center ICE manages intellectual property created by faculty, staff and students at UAF and UAS. One mission of the office is to obtain legal protection for intellectual property arising from UAF and UAS innovations (e.g. patents, copyrights, trademarks) and to transfer those innovations out of the university through existing companies or startups to create products and services that benefit and impact the public.

The Innovator Handbook outlines the essential elements of technology transfer at UAF and UAS. This guide is organized to answer the most common questions Center ICE typically fields from faculty, staff, and students. It is designed to provide a broad overview of the technology development process and the suite of programs, services, and funding available for researchers.
