About Caitlin

Hometown: Chicago, Illinois
Major: Wildlife Biology & Conservation
Hi! I’m Caitlin Bamberger and I’m from the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. I’m studying Wildlife Biology and Conservation here at UAF. I love animals and nature, so coming to Alaska was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up when coming to college. I’m a “jack of all trades” and am interested in many things. From reading a book, playing my instrument, baking, playing board games, or just enjoying a midnight hike you can usually find me doing something. UAF has been the perfect place for me to explore all these interests and grow as a person. I enjoy being outdoors and love all things outdoorsy: hiking, biking, backpacking, camping, etc. Additionally, I love rock climbing and bouldering, so if I’m not outside or doing homework you can usually find me at the rock wall in the SRC.
UAF has so many amazing opportunities and I’m so glad I came here. I’ve hiked all around campus, got to go backpacking on the Kesugi Ridge trail in Denali State Park, went climbing at Grapefruit Rocks, rafted down the Tanana River, and so much more! In addition to all of my adventures I’ve gotten to meet so many amazing people and learn a bunch of new things. I’m also an Honors student and a Climate Scholar. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out! I hope to see you around campus!
