UAF School of Education accreditation
The UAF SOE Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling Programs hold national accreditation through the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP). CACREP Accreditation recognizes the exemplary content, quality, and stability of our counseling programs.
CACREP accreditation requires a minimum of three core faculty members having graduated from Counselor Education and Supervision Ph.D. programs. In Academic Year 2021-2022, the Counseling Program fell below the required number of core faculty members. We are happy to announce that we have a core faculty in place for AY 2022-2023 that meets CACREP requirements. Please email Valerie Gifford, Department Chair, with pertinent questions.
The UAF SOE Initial Teaching Licensure Programs (Elementary, Music Education, Secondary & Special Education) hold national accreditation through the Council for the Accreditation of Education Preparation (CAEP).
