Unique art exhibit from UAF MFA student Theresa Woldstad during the One Health, One Future conference!

"There is an art to science and a science to art; both are distinct, yet both flourish together.

My native heritage is Kootenai and Bitterroot Salish from the Montana Flathead Reservation. My mother and I were born in Alaska and are enrolled in the Ketchikan Indian Community in Alaska; a federally recognized tribe of Alaska Natives and American Indians. My artistic style is diverse as I have studied under numerous Native Elders and artisans across Alaska. My MFA thesis show will be my second Master’s degree. My first was a MS in Wildlife Biology from UAF. This blending of academic cultures has greatly influenced my art as I try to view indigenous art as both analogous yet distinct from the scientific community."

    Theresa Woldstad

Don't miss her show at UAF's Art gallery, just a few steps from the Davis Concert Hall.
