2024-2025 FAFSA Delayed

UAF recommends submitting the FAFSA every year as soon as possible after it becomes available, typically on October 1 for the following fall. The Department of Education has announced that the 2024-2025 FAFSA will not be available in October of 2023 as expected. An updated open date has not been announced, however we believe it will become available late December 2023 or early January 2024. There is not a deadline for the FAFSA, but we recommend completing before February 15 to be considered for all UAF scholarships. The state of Alaska requires the FAFSA by June 30 for state aid, including the Alaska Performance Scholarship.

Have you been selected for FAFSA Verification?

The FAFSA Verification process double-checks and confirms the information you’ve submitted on your FAFSA. About one third of the people who file the FAFSA each year are selected for verification.
