Ms. Roxie Rodgers Dinste

Professor of Extension, Emerita

WHEREAS Ms. Roxie Rodgers Dinstel served the University of Alaska Fairbanks with distinction in teaching and public service from 1995 to 2017; and

WHEREAS Ms. Dinstel was the Home Economics Extension Agent for the Tanana District, teaching over 20,000 individuals with unparalleled enthusiasm and commitment, developing and delivering educational programming on food safety and preservation, food preparation and family economics; and

WHEREAS Ms. Dinstel created dozens of extension publications and frequent media articles to provide information to an even wider audience; and

WHEREAS Ms. Dinstel provided valuable service to Interior Alaska communities, including working with the Fairbanks Food Bank to provide food preparation and nutrition education to their clientele, training rural community members in how to organize and carry out Health Fairs, and assisting with the Tanana Valley Fair; and

WHEREAS Ms. Dinstel received numerous awards in recognition of her service, including Volunteer of the Year for the Tanana Valley State Fair, Distinguished Service for National Association of Extension 4-H Agents, and a Distinguished Service Award presented by the National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the University of Alaska Fairbanks expresses its deep appreciation to Ms. Roxie Rodgers Dinstel for her extensive contributions to the State of Alaska and to the University; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the University of Alaska Fairbanks, in further recognition of the invaluable services rendered by Ms. Dinstel and as evidence of the University’s desire that her identification with the University be maintained, hereby salutes the appointment of Ms. Roxie Rodgers Dinstel as Professor of Extension, Emerita; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be appropriately engrossed and signed by the Chancellor of the University of Alaska Fairbanks as further evidence of the esteem and respect in which he holds Ms. Roxie Rodgers Dinstel, and conveyed to Ms. Dinstel on this 4th day of May, 2018.
