New York Times chief Washington correspondent David Sanger will give a free public lecture Monday, March 25 at 7 p.m. in the Schaible Auditorium on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus.
Sanger's lecture “Confront and Conceal: Obama’s Secret Wars and Surprising Use of American Power,” will touch on the highlights from his book of the same name.
Sanger has been a member of two teams that won the Pulitzer Prize and he has won numerous awards for his coverage of the presidency and foreign policy.
Sanger's lecture is part of the Snedden Guest Lecture Series. Helen Snedden established the Snedden Chair and lecture series in 2003 with a gift in memory of her late husband, C.W. Snedden, the former publisher and owner of the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. Since its establishment, the lecture series has allowed the UAF journalism department to bring nationally known journalists to Fairbanks to speak to students, local journalists and the public.
