I have been with the Alaska Native Studies and Rural Development Program since 1996.  I am located in Dillingham at the Bristol Bay Campus.  I teach a number of undergraduate RD classes (RD 300 Rural Development in the Global Perspective, RD 325-Community Development Strategies & RD 351-Community Planning for Rural Communities).  I also teach PS/Econ 100X Political Economy.  In addition to my regular teaching assignments, I work with other faculty members to conduct seminars wihich are held at various locations around the state.  The Juneau leadership seminar RD 492, held in the spring, is one that attracts both graduate and undergraduate students.  My interests include some of the following: development issues facing Alaska, sustainable fisheries (I commercial fish in the summer), providing forums for leadership (I once served in Alaska Legislature during the 80's), and finding ways to have more sustainable communities.
