The drafting technology program offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in the field of computer-aided drafting.

Courses combine technical know-how and hands-on experience necessary for work in a variety of drafting fields. Qualified students have the opportunity to work side-by-side with professionals from the architectural and engineering community in internship situations, gaining valuable on-the-job experience. In the classroom, students develop skills in mathematics, drawing and multi-functional AutoCad techniques. Students are introduced to conventional drawing techniques and computer-aided drafting from their very first course.

  3. Complete the following program requirements:
    DRT 101--Introduction to Drafting--3 credits
    DRT 110--Computer Literacy for Drafting--3 credits
    DRT 170--Beginning AutoCad--3 credits
    DRT 210--Intermediate AutoCad--3 credits
    PRT 101--Introduction to Process Technology--3 credits
    PRT 110--Introduction to Occupational Safety--3 credits
    PRT 117--Drafting for Technicians--3 credits
  4. Complete 6 credits from the following or program coordinator-approved electives:
    DRT 115--Graphics I--3 credits
    DRT 121--Building Trades Blueprint Reading--3 credits
    DRT 123--Uniform Building Code--3 credits
    DRT 140--Architectural Drafting--3 credits
    DRT 150--Surveying Applications--3 credits
    DRT 160--Drafting Internship 1--6 credits
    DRT 270--Advanced AutoCad--3 credits
