Center ICE's Students2Startups summer internship program connects University of Alaska students and startup companies. Students work directly with companies and gain skills in their field of interest through collaborating to identify challenges, use tools and experiments, and develop solutions. They also work with other interns in the cohort on team projects facilitated by Center ICE while participating in a collaborative learning environment gaining knowledge about design thinking, the basics of startup companies, the Alaska business landscape, and more. Their learnings are directly applied to their startup projects, enhancing their skills for future opportunities. Students also gain a micro-credential badge through UAF’s Community and Technical College provided by Credly.

For summer 2024, Center ICE has partnered with 22 companies looking for students across 13 themes. Students can apply for the student assistant position for these summer internships from the Students2Startups webpage. Students will apply for the VCR/ARC/EPSCoR-Student Assistant position. The application cover letter needs to state they are applying for the S2S internship and include their top three companies selected from the 22 listed.
