Johnson Named National Academy of Inventors Fellow

Jerry Johnson, University of Alaska Fairbanks researcher and co-founder of UAF startup Coupi, inc., is among the class of 168 new fellows recognized in 2019 by the National Academy of Inventors.

Johnson, a senior research advisor at the Alaska Center for Energy and Power and UAF’s Institute of Northern Engineering, will be inducted at the NAI annual meeting April 10 in Phoenix.

The NIA Fellows Program highlights academic inventors “who have demonstrated a spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development and the welfare of society.” A complete list of 2019 inductees is available at https://academyofinventors.org/.
