The United Nations has defined 17 goals to transform our world. The Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries — poor, rich and middle-income — to promote prosperity while protecting the planet.

The goals recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies to build economic growth and address a range of social needs, including education, health, social protection and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection. More important than ever, the goals provide a critical framework for COVID-19 recovery.

Center ICE is soliciting proposals for innovations that focus on two of these goals: SDG #11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and #13: Climate Action. Underlying this call is UN SDG #9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure. Projects funded under this RFP will develop an innovative idea and move it closer to commercial reality while addressing SDG #11 or #13.

This RFP is supported by the Office of Naval Research and is a program of the Alaska Center for Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship.
