Introduces communication skills characteristic of university context. Develops reading and writing strategies within the context of a specific course. Emphasis on comprehension, notetaking, and other study skills. Links with selected lecture course. (Prerequisite: Referral from Rural Student Services.)

Intensive Reading Development (3+0)
(Same as DEVS 105)
Develops vocabulary, strategies, speed, and comprehension to enhance success with textbook reading. Composition of essays in relation to readings. (Prerequisite: Students must meet federal eligibility regulations.)
